An Introduction To My Genre - Thriller/Mystery

The thriller/mystery genre includes a number of sub-genres including horror, crime and spying. The genre is designed to provoke emotional reactions in the audience. 

The idea is to keep the audience on the edge of their seats in suspense and have them guessing what is going to happen next. 

The protagonist has to have a sense of vulnerability but also demonstrate strength as the audience are willing the protagonist to succeed. 

In the same way the antagonist must be shown to obviously be the villain in the story but in a way that makes them complex, possibly humanising them so that their intentions make sense even if the audience does not agree with them.
